February Breath + Body Women's Mini Retreat

Lynne Bereza | JAN 8

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and took some time to rest and recharge. Did you set any New Year's intentions? Or maybe pick a word that you want the year to embody? I did - my word is "joy".

Joy is something I want to feel more of in 2026. Not just in the big, exciting moments (like my youngest daughter's wedding in August - that will be joyful for sure!), but also in the small, everyday moments - those fleeting glimmers that pop up unexpectedly, that we so often are too busy to notice and appreciate.

One thing that brings me joy is creating meaningful offerings, and that is what I am here to announce today.

Introducing the February Breath + Body Women's Mini Retreat.

Date:
Sunday, February 1/26

Time:
9:00 am to 12:30 pm

Location:
Just Be Wellness Studio, Portage la Prairie

What is a mini retreat?

Not everyone has the time or resources to enjoy a day, weekend, or week-long retreat. A mini retreat is the same idea - a gathering of like-minded women seeking to relax mind and body, explore healing practices, and come away feeling lighter, and with a renewed sense of self - after only 3.5 hours.

What is breathwork?

A key element of my mini-retreat is a circular breathwork session. This type of connected breathing involves breathing in and out through the mouth in a circular pattern, while lying down, accompanied by music.

Your tissues hold your issues

Breathwork has been shown to have numerous benefits for physical and mental well-being by stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, and releasing built-up tension and stress.

In essence, it almost helps your brain to "turn off" for a while (and who hasn't wished for that at some point!), allowing your body to release whatever it's been holding on to.

I have experienced these benefits myself - in fact, breathwork has been the most transformative practice of my life.

What else is included?

In addition to a breathwork session, we will enjoy gentle yoga, meditation, and time for journalling and discussion in a safe, supportive environment. A light, nourishing snack will also be provided.

Who should attend?

This mini-retreat is perfect for anyone who:

  • wants to clear out feelings of stress, anxiety, anger, or other negative emotions

  • has limited time but wants to experience a retreat setting

  • is ready to explore a deeper mind-body connection

  • is open to self-healing

If you're unsure, here is a testimonial from one of my previous retreats:

"This retreat was exactly what my soul needed. From the moment I arrived, the space felt comforting and full of positive energy. The experiences throughout the day were truly therapeutic - helping me let go of what I'd been carrying and reconnect with myself. I left feeling peaceful, open-hearted, and deeply grateful."
