New Year Yoga Offerings with Breeze Yoga

Lynne Bereza | JAN 3, 2023

Happy New Year, friends!

After taking a break from teaching yoga over the holidays, I am SO looking forward to starting up again on January 11.

The following classes take place in-person at Just Be Wellness Studio, live on Zoom, or via recording. You choose how, where, and even when you’d like to practice.

Yin Yang

Mondays

7:00 – 8:00 pm

This class combines long, slow, deep stretches to relax the body’s connective tissues, followed by a gentle flow to build strength and balance. We finish each class with a relaxing restorative pose or two before moving into Savasana. It’s the perfect blend of rest and movement.

Yin Restorative

Thursdays

7:00 – 8:00 pm

Find stillness and calm as you experience the benefits of two types of yoga - yin and restorative. We begin with yin poses that target your body's connective tissues - joints, ligaments, and fascia. We then move into restorative poses, using props to cradle your body so that you can experience a state of deep relaxation. All poses take place seated or reclined and are combined with deep breathing for a peaceful, mellow practice.

Hatha Flow

Saturdays

9:00 – 10:00 am

After a gentle warmup, students will move through a series of sun salutations, connecting each movement to their breath. We will then build strength with standing poses, balancing postures and core work. While this dynamic class will create heat and energy in the body, modifications will be given for all poses, allowing the student to make their practice more or less challenging.

You can sign up for these classes on my website at http://breeze-yoga.ca.

Costs

  • Single Class - $12
  • 10-Class Pass - $110
  • 20-Class Pass - $200

For your convenience, you can purchase a class pass through my website or directly through me via e-transfer, cash or cheque.

Class Passes are good for 1 year from the date of purchase.

A few notes:

  1. I would greatly appreciate it if you set up an account on my website to register for a class – it will keep track of your class pass so I don’t have to! If you don't have a class pass, no worries - you can still sign up online, and either pay for single classes by credit card or select "pay later" to use another form of payment when you come to class.
  2. Classes are ongoing. You sign up for – and pay for – ONLY the classes you are able to attend. There is no requirement to attend a certain number of classes in a set period of time.
  3. Feel free to sign up for a bunch of classes at once or one at a time, your choice. Cancellation is easy and free (Please note: no-shows are charged the full class fee).
  4. All classes are beginner-friendly, but if you’ve never done yoga before, I recommend trying Yin Yang before Hatha Flow.

If evenings or Saturdays don’t work for you, I also teach the following daytime classes at the Herman Prior Activity Centre:

Chair Yoga

Mondays

1:00 – 2:00 pm

Wednesdays

12:10 - 1:10 pm

Chair yoga is a gentle class suitable for all ages and abilities. We begin seated in a chair and move through a full-body stretch. Standing poses (using the chair as support) are incorporated if appropriate. Students will develop greater body awareness, flexibility, mobility, and balance.

Hatha Yoga

Thursdays

1:00 – 2:00 pm

This is a gentle class suitable for all ages, but students must have the ability to stand for a portion of the class. We begin with a series of reclined and seated stretches, then move into standing poses to build strength and balance before returning to the floor for a closing stretch and Savasana. Wall is used for support as required.

* No pre-registration is required for these classes – just drop in! Any adult is welcome to attend, and the price is very reasonable - $3 for non-members and $1 for members. A membership to Herman Prior is $25/year.
